The call!

Please call me 'Pastor Darlene'  I have heard the call, for much of my adult life.  I gave 'sermons in my dreams'.

I was schooled in a Lutheran Christian Day School, Much thanks to my wonderful parents,  we had Sunday School 6 days a week,  along with the '3 R's', it was a wonderful education, We memorized much of the KJV BIBLE, and Hymns that bring tears to my eyes. We kids, put on a lot of 'Shows' for our congregation, lol

There was no politics, no mention of the unborn baby, no excessive mention of any particular type of 'Dis-Ease'. We all knew that we were in the same 'boat'. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."   We were taught compassion, love, kindness, patience, long-suffering; these remain the fruits of our Father's Spirit

When I grew up, I 'looked up' some other of our world religions, like Buddhism for instance. I found God in all of them.

I even attended a Voo-Doo (spelling?) ceremony in Haiti, it was dark, a bon fire was made in the center of a cement circle, drums beat everywhere, glass was broken on the cement circle, alcohol was poured down the 'victums' throats, ( or perhaps they drank it willingly): as well as the cement, and fire burned on the cement in flashes.  I noticed the females were designated circle dancers, the males just warmed up the circle, and did,  'the cut glass work'.

One of the poor females danced by me, as I was sitting with the other tourist's, and just as she did so, my gold cross necklace, reflected the bon fire, and flashed at her, she than let out a guttural roar.  I offered a smile and a friendly handshake, a few seconds passed than she grabbed my arm as if to tear it out of it's socket, but my unspoken love for her, caught on, immediately, and she released my hand, and danced out of the circle and my life. Love is the strongest force in the universe.

I can see her in my mind's eye, in the next morning, when the drum fed hypnosis and alcohol wears off, and her swollen, brused, cut, and burned feet begin to feel the pain.

Yes, she was a victum,  what a way NOT to make a living!  Each tourist payed to get into the 'ceremony',  I wonder how much did she get for her pain.

I was glad to hear about Christianity spreading in Haiti.  Actually any 'other' religion, would have been preferred, for Vodoo is a 'religion', hypnosis is of God, and alcohol is of God, and I wonder if she got any drunker than Noah did,  but I feel her pain?

Perhaps in an alter call someday she could be cured of any need she may have, to experience pain.

The Sheep!

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,  Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink:  I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me:  I was sick and ye visited me:  I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying,  Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger,  and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them,   Verily I say unto you,  Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

The sheep are good followers, they depend fully on the shepard, or the lead sheep,  who leads them.  They don't depend on their own efforts,  and they aren't for the most part, motivated by fear, because they trust.

They answered the call to help another person out.

I have heard all these sayings....

"The homeless want to be homeless."
Camping can be fun, for a short time, in good  weather, it can be pure hell in rain, cold, mosquito infested and or snake infested places.  Consider the bear's, alligators, wolves, it can even be deadly.

"They are secretly better off than they pretend to be."
What they do is their business,  what I do is my blessing!

"They will just use the money to buy more booze."
It does not matter what 'Jesus' does with the money I gave Him,  it was all I had to give Him, when I seen His need, I am blessed because of it!

The Goats!

Than shall he say also to them on the left hand,   Depart from me,  ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

I was a stranger, and ye took me not in:  naked, and ye clothed me not:  sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

Than shall they also answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athrist, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Then shall he answer them saying,   Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not unto me.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

What sort of animal are 'goats' anyway?  Stubborn, Quick to anger, and 'but' whatever part of your anatomy that may present itself.  "Got your Goat?"   Goat ranchers tell me that it is very rear to find a 'loving' goat.  They do go their own way, and serve their own needs.

God's law is that we reap what we sow,  we do not, for instance, sow war, but reap peace.   We have made that mistake a few times too many,  likewise anger 'breeds' anger,  assult brings assult,  stubbornness brings stubbornness.

"We have met the enemy, and he is US!"  a cartoon character named 'Pogo', a 'mole';  I apologize to Pogo's creator that I haven't given credit too, for this so wise saying.

As long as we think and act like a self serving 'goat' we surround ourselves with alike things, and 'friends' who take advantage of us as we do to them, it forsure is no kind of 'Heaven'.

I remember seeing this verse somewhere in the Bible....... "Though I make my bed in Hell, thou art there."

Yes, 'Thou' the entire Heavenly host, angels, archangels, ascended masters, friends,  relatives,  all;   are at our beck and call.   We are his Children,  of course he cares for us, of course He will allow us to see the consequences of our actions, and learn to serve others.   "He who would be greatest of all, must be servant of all."

What Can YOU do?

As the good people that  we are, or try to be, we can do much.  We can 'push' the word 'LOVE' as often as possible, the word is the thought, and the thought is the word.

Love everything, and everyone, judge know one, be tolerant, forgiving, peaceful, humble, and compassionate,  "That ye may be called children of the Father."   You are children of our Father, act like it!

"Let men see your good works that they may glorify your Father in Heaven."    "Let your light shine."

The coming age could be a time of immence darkness soooo,  "Let your 'little light' shine,"  Let your BIG light shine also!

Love to all my friends, pastor Darlene...
